Having done something similar in Connecticut in 2015, we became the first state to eliminate all restrictions on fibrosis scores and types of practitioners who can prescribe DAAs.  It opened access to all patients with any degree of HCV, and allowed any licensed prescriber to treat. I would suggest not only hitting on the cost effectiveness of treating patients by saving money down the line, which is true but not necessarily important to people controlling budgets, but also hit on the extrahepatic manifestations of HCV, like fatigue and how people who were previously unemployed may now return to the workforce.  You carry the energy of advocacy for doing the right thing and hopefully you will succeed.  Good luck.

    Thank you Gary,
I appreciate the advice. I think the committee is close to accepting our advice about opening up the prescribing rights, and removing sobriety restrictions. I'm excited, they are making a step in the right direction
