Subject: Support Increased FY 2021 Funding for Viral Hepatitis
As Congress begins deliberating on FY 2021 appropriations allocations, we need more lawmakers to join hepatitis champions in calling for increased funding for viral hepatitis. Email your Representative and Senator today, urging them to support the request for $134 million in appropriations for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Viral Hepatitis and $58 million for the Infectious Diseases and Opioid Epidemic Program.
Rep. Grace Meng, Rep. Hank Johnson, and Sen. Mazie Hirono are hepatitis champions who are leading the charge by asking their colleagues in the House and Senate to sign onto their "Dear Colleague" letter requesting the increased funding. But other Congresspersons may not sign on unless they hear from you, their constituent, urging their support for the funding request. Send an email today and help us develop more hepatitis champions in Congress.
Thank you,
NVHR
