On behalf of the Board of Directors and Academy Staff, I'm excited to welcome you to Academy Communities, the Academy's new discussion platform. This new resource is designed to directly connect the global HIV care community. We hope you'll join the conversation!
As a member of the HIV care community, you've been automatically subscribed to the Academy Exchange. This is the main discussion forum or "community" within Academy Communities, the main place to discuss all things related to HIV care. Each morning, you'll receive this Daily Digest e-mail, which will contain updates on new activity in the community.
There are a number of ways you can access Academy Communities. The main way is to use the Academy Communities website. You can find this by logging in to the main Academy web page and selecting "Academy Communities". Alternatively, you can go directly to https://community.aahivm.org to log Once there, you can update your profile and settings, add a bio, and contribute to discussions.
Here are some things you can do to get started:
- Check out the "Getting Started with Academy Communities" video on the main page
- Upload a picture and add a bio to your profile so others can get to know you
- Find the "Introduce Yourself" thread in the Academy Exchange and tell us about yourself
You can also participate in discussions by using the links in these e-mails, such as "Reply to Group" or "View Thread".
For the first few weeks, the Academy Exchange will be moderated by staff, so your posts may not show right away. Moderation helps us to make sure that everything is working correctly with the site. Thank you in advance for your patience.
If you need help adjusting your e-mail preferences, including the frequency of the Daily Digest, take a look at the "How to Update E-mail Notification Setting" on the
Video Tutorial page of the site.
