On behalf of the Physician Assistant committee, I hope this message finds you and yours happy, healthy and vaccinated! It is a goal of mine that we on the committee keep you informed quarterly on our progress and successes within the PA Community of AAHIVM.
I would like to start with successes! I would like to recognize our newest first-time credentialed Academy HIV Specialist™ PAs who passed the January-February 2021 credentialing exam.

Once again, I was shocked to see how many new first-time credentialed PAs were added to our ever-growing community, which is currently 182 credentialed PAs! This is not an easy task with the busy work and personal lives we all lead, so congratulations to you all! This time, I have included their locations! Personally, it was great to see a PA in the Philadelphia area that I hadn't met yet who is doing HIV care. I quickly went on LinkedIn and sent Jared a message to say hi and welcome. I encourage you all to reach out if you see a name from your area so we can continue to network, share ideas, and work together.
If you are not credentialed yet, but are now starting to get jealous of the newsletter shout-outs or feel this is your time to become an HIV Specialist™, don't know where to start or just need some mentoring through the process, I encourage you to join the Academy Mentoring Program. Your PA colleagues are here for you as mentors through a one-on-one relationship to provide a customized learning experience and help you feel more confident taking the credentialing exam.
If you are already an HIV Specialist™, be on the lookout for an invitation to an upcoming meet and greet in June 2021 to discuss a new preceptorship program developed by the PA Committee. We need all of you to help continue the legacy of PAs in healthcare so we can continue advancing the goal we have had since the beginning of the HIV epidemic: end it.
Thank you all for your dedication and the work you do every day. As I said in my previous newsletter, please feel free to reach out to me via email, social media or through the Academy Exchange if you have ideas on what the committee can be doing, how the Academy can best serve you, or just to say hello!
