The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) and the Center for Health Law & Policy Innovation (CHLPI) are in the process of updating the evaluation criteria for Hepatitis C: State of Medicaid Access and would like to hear from people who have been personally impacted by hepatitis C, healthcare team members, advocates, and other stakeholders about ongoing barriers to hepatitis C treatment access in your communities.
Since the project was launched in 2017, it has graded state Medicaid programs across the country on three key prior authorization criteria: liver damage (fibrosis), substance use/sobriety requirements, and prescriber restrictions. We have seen significant improvements across state Medicaid programs in removing some of these restrictions. However, critical barriers to HCV treatment remain in many states, and there is an opportunity to update the project's evaluation process to better account for those remaining barriers.
Please fill out this 5-10 minute survey by Friday, March 11th to inform the project's evaluation criteria moving forward: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/StateOfHepC
