    Good Morning,

I am wondering if any clinics have experience using Heplisav-B after having used Engerix-B for PLWH. I am finding many clients without immunity despite the 3 dose series of Engerix, in which case they are receiving another round a 3 doses. Has anyone found that 2 doses of Heplisav is providing better coverage on the first round?

    Thank you!

    Erika

We are using Heplisav-B in this circumstance and it works great. It is now the only hep B vaccine we stock and administer to anyone who needs protection from hep B.

Yes been using it routinely for years, regardless of HIV status.  The only caveats are it's not approved in pediatrics and not recommended for pregnant women.

This was one of the early reports with good efficacy:

We recently switched to Heplisav-B also, because of data presented at the Ryan White conference last fall.  It was shown to be much better with regards to development of immunity. No real-life results in our clinic yet, though.
