Hi Marie,
The meds we use currently for PrEP should have low hepatic risk, and there would certainly be risk of seroconversion if PrEP is not prescribed. Personally, I would definitely prescribe PrEP and monitor hepatic function closely. Since it appears that certain populations can transmit HCV sexually, I would encourage consistent condom use and get these patients treated to eradicate HCV. Hope that makes sense.

Subject: PrEp and Hepatitis C patients
Good morning Everyone,
A few of my patients are Hepatitis c positive and are interested in PrEp. One of them has an ALT of 122. My plan is not to prescribe the PrEp and to repeat his Hepatic enzymes in a month before prescribing PrEp (Descovy) and refer him to an Hepatologist. Does anyone has any other suggestions on how to safely care for Hep C patients who would like to be on PrEp ?
Thanks in advance for all your input.
