Quick question: I have a patient on emtricitabine/TDF for HIV PrEP. He is s/p sleeve gastropathy in 2022 for weight mgmt. Now on semaglutide injection as well. Takes medication for asthma and seasonal allergies.
He had a drop in ANC over the last 3 years, started PrEP in 2023 with ANC 3.92, now he is at 1.52. He sees hematology due to macrocytic anemia.
Would tenofovir be a cause for the drop in neutrophils? And if so, would you recommend a med change, maybe to Apretude/cabotegravir?
