The thrombocytopenia is usually linked to the viral load and should improve with control of the viral load.
This is kind of my thought process of common things to rule-out before I start a deeper dive:
- Concomittant other viral infections (Hep B and H. pylori)
- Nutritional deficiencies (B12, folate, copper)
- Liver dysfunction
- Splenomegaly
- Medications (esp. TMP-SMX)

I hope you all are doing well. I would like to hear about clinical experiences and management of persistent thrombocytopenia in virally suppressed patients with a good immune response. I understand the incidence of thrombocytopenia is about 30-40% in patients with advanced HIV. But it is really appreciated it If I can hear of any successful treatment.
