I submitted my comments, hoping for some additional thoughts for the proposal before a decision is made. HIV RNA should be covered (not just ab/ag) so that it is not a barrier to LAI PrEP. STI testing frequency should be increased to be more than once a year and should always include extragenital. I didn't comment about (but wish I would have) on coverage for PrEP services with non-physician providers.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a Proposed Decision Memo in support of coverage of provider-administered PrEP in Medicare Part A and B. A period for public comment is open now through August 11, 2023. The Academy has submitted comments in support of these changes, but it's also important for CMS to hear from individual clinicians as well. We encourage you to submit comments by August 11.
