I believe my training and experience will accommodate valuable contributions to serve people living with HIV (PLHIV). I completed my residency in Preventive Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in 2020. I am board certified in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine, and have special interest in Lifestyle Medicine, and Clinical Informatics. I joined the faculty in the UMMC’s Department of Preventive Medicine in early 2022 and providing comprehensive clinical preventive and lifestyle medicine care in UMMC’s Ryan White Clinic. Lifestyle Medicine addresses the root cause of diseases process including nutrition, exercise, sleep, avoiding risky substances, stress management, and social connections. Preventive medicine addresses the environment at home and work, the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the land we use. Moreover, due to the stigma surrounding the HIV population, here in the south, we deliver culturally sensitive services that consider the social determinants of health and health disparities, especially to those who are identified as Black or African American and/or members of the LGBTQ + community.
