I have been working in HIV care since completion of my residency training in Philadelphia in 1989. I worked for one-year as a volunteer physician with Healthcare for the Homeless in Washington, DC and was in Private Clinical Practice for 6 years before joining the Residency Faculty at Lancaster General Hospital in 1996.
I was the founder in 1997 and former Medical director of LGHP-Comprehensive Care - a Ryan White Funded Program at Lancaster General Hospital. I have mentored many Family Medicine resident at the LGH Program through the years to become certified as HIV specialists. I have been a member of AAHIVM since its founding, served on the Board of Directors for 10 years and served for five years as the Chief Medical Officer CMO) for the Academy. I retired from Penn Medicine/Lancaster General Health in December 2020.
I currently still reside in Lancaster, PA but serve as the Medical Director of "Caring Communities" which provides STI screening /prevention/treatment services as well as HIV treatment and prevention care at 3 Locations in Northern Pennsylvania including Wilkes-Barre, Hazelton, and Bloomsburg.
I remain board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and as an HIV Specialist by AAHIVM and also serve as a physician mentor for the Academy.
