Morgan Mako, APRN, FNP-C, AAHIVS
Greetings! I'm a board-certified (AANP) family nurse practitioner who completed additional post-graduate family medicine fellowship training (2018-2019) at The Institute for Family Health (NYC). I'm also a current member of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC). I received my certificate of nursing and master's degree with a sub-specialty concentration in diabetes management from the Yale School of Nursing (2015-2018) and also completed pre-medical studies at Harvard University (2012-2013) and hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College.
My personal experience with Zen buddhist meditation and psychology inform my conceptualization of health, wellness, illness, and dis-ease. I'm particularly interested in the application of meditation, stress reduction, and cross-cultural approaches toward the relief of suffering, social justice, health equity/disparity, community healthcare, and the integration of primary care and behavioral health.
I'm in full-time clinical practice at Lynn Community Health Center in Lynn, Massachusetts (Greater Boston), where I provide integrated family medicine, management for common mood disorders and ADHD, women's healthcare, contraception (including Nexplanon and IUD), treatment for HIV and hepatitis C, PrEP/PEP, transgender care/HRT, and Suboxone (MAT) for opioid use disorder.
I speak Spanish fluently and am currently accepting new clients, including newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. I also precept nurse practitioner students and offer long-distance mentorship and professional development consultation.
